Data privacy

What personal information we collect and why we collect it:

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our website you may agree to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies remain stored for one year.

When you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine whether your browser allows cookies. This cookie contains no personal information and is deleted when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days and screen options cookies last for a year. If you choose “Remember Me”, your registration will be retained for two weeks. If you log out of your account, login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, another cookie will be stored in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

The articles on this website may contain embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves exactly as if the visitor had visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Third Party Analytics and Tools

When you visit our website, statistical analyzes of your surfing behavior may be carried out. This is mainly done with the help of cookies and analysis tools. The analysis of your surfing behavior is usually anonymous, i.e. we cannot identify you based on this data. You can object to this evaluation or prevent it by not using certain tools. Detailed information can be found in the following data protection declaration.

You can object to this evaluation. We will inform you below about how you can exercise your options in this regard.

How long we keep your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata will be saved indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our website, we also store the personal data that they provide in their user profile. All users can view, edit or delete their personal information at any time (but they cannot change their username). The website administrators can also view and edit this data.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we delete any personal data we hold about you. This excludes data that we must retain for administrative, legal or security reasons.
